EPISODE 1: Foundations 

From conditioning flowers to market etiquette, this episode covers everything you need to know to start your journey of creating with flowers. This is a great place to start if you’re a complete beginner, or refresh your memory of the basics needed to create in this field. Be it a strong passion for flowers, or keen interest in changing your career, this episode covers a vast range of topics and guidance based on Kai’s personal experience and is curated to guide you in the right direction. 

You'll learn about color theory and her approach to her signature color palettes, understanding how depth and texture co-create that LADYGARDEN look. You will work with over 20 varieties of flowers, with colour names and recipe lists for ease so you can re-create, or add your own creative flair to the base technique. Each recipe will have sketches, so you can really visualize the shapes you are creating together in the three arrangements. Using the spiraling technique, Kai will lead you in a step by step manner to create three unique bouquets: Bridal, Wild and Sculptural. LADYGARDEN’S sculptural bouquets became a household name in 2020, with flowers bringing joy to those in lockdown with colour and texture. 

EPISODE 2: Curating Tablescapes

With two unique colour palettes and a large variety of flowers, you can create the perfect atmosphere for any occasion: be it a private party, flowers for home, wedding, event or birthday. In this episode, Kaiva will show you how to curate a two-tone tablescape with just five ingredients or an OG ladygarden style with a mixed and dense colour palette. Within these designs, she explains her approach to working with different budgets and clients so that you can create with more integrity. 

Techniques include centerpieces using chicken wire, grid tape, and kenzan pins (no floral foam necessary!). Mixed vases, vessels and bowls are used to their full potential with her tips and tricks - not just for the professionals! Kaiva encourages you to create using vessels found around your home space and think outside the box. These clouds are a signature in the LADYGARDEN studio and have been key in many event and wedding designs, and this design is inspired by the aura of LADYGARDEN: in shades of lilac, peach, soft pink and yellow.
